Practicing meditation Upon a Centipede

PRACTICING MEDITATION UPON A CENTIPEDE.

I aimed to require my eyes open.

owned by a restless desire.
to see the surprise world I notice–.

I peered.
into the secret darkness of the trees–.
I gazed– I squinted–.
attempting to permeate.

up until almost blind with aggravation.

In fatigue.
I sank down.
to rest on a stump.
by a dry brook …

however in the peaceful blank.
of this convalescence.
I lapsed into.
an ageless, simple and easy.
area:.

my empty eyes started to fill.
with the charm.
of a merely intricate centipede.
browsing a battleground.
of gray-brown leaves.
in between my feet–.

this focus, so generous.
pillowed mind and heart.

up until the wonderful animal.
vanished into the stump.

The desire to see.
the concealed.
increased when again:.

a drive not pleased.
by such soft convenience.

I stood up.
to continue the hunt …
